Summary:

In this epic tale based on a true story, John, a seasoned captain, sets sail from New Zealand to Tongo in his outrigger sailboat with an inexperienced 3-man crew. Three days into their journey, they encounter a fierce tropical storm, and a freak 40-foot wave tosses their tiny trimaran upside down. The four men narrowly escape death from drowning, but must soon face the facts of survival in a sea of terror. Trapped in the upper quarters of the flipped boat, with no working radio, they soon turn to quarreling and bickering as their food and water supplies dwindle. On the edge of disaster, they find an even greater horror awaits them in the dark depths of the ocean.
